Q – We want our wedding to have an outdoors theme, so we are considering a marquee wedding but we are worried whether this is something we can organise?
A – A marquee wedding is perfect if you like the great outdoors and want to have a unique and bespoke venue. Q – How much does wedding marquee hire cost? It is not more expensive than a hotel?
A – No not necessarily so, a marquee can accommodate a much larger number of guests than most hotels, and many marquee companies offer a package which includes furniture hire, interiors, lighting and much more. With a marquee wedding you can use the wedding suppliers of your choice, so you can choose other services which fit your budget, choose you own food and caterers as well as your choice of entertainment. Q – What happens if it’s a wet day?
A – All our marquees are waterproof and absolutely fine in all weathers. Also with the use of powerful heaters, marquees make an ideal winter venue for Christmas parties and winter weddings.
Q – The ground we would like the marquee to be located on isn’t level, will this be a problem?
A – No, depending on the slope, we will visit the site to survey the location, it may require packing or a levelled flooring but it is something we can advise you on.  Check out our solid flooring article.
Q – Can you help us find a venue?
A – Of course, we erect marquees at many venues across Dorset so we will be happy to chat to you about your requirements and make suggestions for venues.  (Here are some of the marquee venues we regularly work at. )
Q – If it is a very warm day, can we open up the sides of the marquee?
A – Our marquees have window walls which can be undone, opening up the marquee to the outside to allow fresh air and an outside in.
Q – Does the marquee have to be erected on grass?
A – No, we are able to erect marquees on most surface types.  The majority are erected on grass but on a weekly basis we will be working on other surfaces such as tarmac, concrete and even scaffold.
Q – If there is a problem on the day, are we able to contact you?
A – Yes of course, we are contactable at all times during hire and contact details and instructions will be given to you.
Q – What other equipment do you hire?
A- What don’t we hire!  We supply most of the equipment you will need to furnish, light & heat the marquee. We have a large supply of tables, chairs, various lighting options, flooring, power generators, and heaters.  If there is something we don’t stock we generally have a supplier that will be able to help.
Q – How soon before the event will the marquee be erected?
A – Typically a few days before to ensure you have time the day before your event to set up and lay out furniture, we would then dismantle the marquee within a couple of days after the wedding has finished.
