So your planning your wedding. You know you want something personal, special and a little bit different so why not a Boho wedding at Wilkswood. Whimsical inspired weddings are really on trend at the moment and we get so excited when we work with couples where anything goes and the quirkier the better.

Wilkswood wedding venue ticks all the boxes for the perfect boho whimsical wedding.  Wilkswood is located in the beautiful Purbecks and gives you a stunning space which is exclusively yours for the whole weekend. You will be surrounded by nature, open fields, and the rolling Purbeck hills. Most couples choose to have their outdoor blessing overlooking these hills and what a backdrop to a wedding!!! Create the look with incredible flower archways and an array of out outdoor seating.

A true boho wedding would not be complete without a marquee. They are so versatile in look and structure and perfect for an outdoor wedding.  The clear span and clear roof can make the most of the beautiful views and surroundings and let in loads of natural light. You can literally dance under the stars.

The beauty of marquees is you can make them your own and have so much height to play with. Let your imagination run wild with colourful, fun and eclectic accessories. Just think… wild flowers, bare feet, twinkling lights, marquee under the stars, patterned linings and hand-crafted touches. Pure boho wedding love!! Drapes can be used to create a more intimate feel in a marquee. These come in all different colours and patterns and can create a very dramatic look.

Banquet tables and 'country' buffet food

One of the best things about being outdoors at Wilkswood is the natural beauty that will act as your décor and backdrop. Accessorise it with bunting, streamers, glass bottles or jars filled with flowers or tea lights, hanging frames, festoon lighting, wooden boxes and tons of florals. We’ve seen creative and fun signage to let guests know where all the festivities are taking place as well, giving that authentic boho wedding festival feel.

Lights, lights and more lights! Hanging and draping lights can transform the marquee into any wonderland you desire. Hanging crystal chandeliers, fairy lights, festoon lights, tee lights, have all been big this last season.

Seating and fire pits

Having an outdoor wedding means you have lots of choices for seating for the ceremony and then later for you and your guests to chill out on or relax on during the festivities. We love the use of folding wooden chairs, deck chairs, hay bales and cushions. Spruce them up with a little bit of fabric or blankets to add to the Boho wedding feel. Keep your guests toasty and maybe melt a few marsh mellows on the fire pits.

A Glamping wedding

As the venue is yours exclusively for the whole weekend why not ask your guests to stay for the ultimate sleep over. The Bride and Groom get a luxury cotton canvas bell tent completely free of charge and it comes with all the trimmings; fully accessorised including bubbly and chocolates. We can create a wedding glamping village that can house your guests so no one has to leave before the party gets started. The village creates a hive of excited guests before and after the ceremony and we can even provide pamper dressing room tents so guests can get ready together.
